Capella Education Selects DataFlux to Power Real-time Data Integration Effort

Parent company of Capella University turns to DataFlux technology to improve and enhance student information at the point of capture

CARY, N.C. (Sept. 17, 2007) — DataFlux, the leader in data quality and data integration solutions, today announced that Capella Education Company (NASDAQ: CPLA), a pioneer in online education, has selected DataFlux technology for a data quality and data integration initiative designed to enhance the value of its information on current and prospective students.

Capella Education, parent company of Capella University, utilizes customer relationship management (CRM) systems to track interactions with nearly 20,000 active students as well as hundreds of thousands of potential students. To refine its view of this network of contacts – and better understand its interactions with these individuals – Capella Education chose DataFlux software to standardize and verify information across CRM applications.

“Our current IT infrastructure provided the ability to manage information within individual systems, but we wanted to do more with that data across these sources,” said Karl Lacher, manager of business intelligence for Capella Education. “DataFlux technology provided the tools to integrate real-time data quality and data integration practices within our existing applications, helping maximize the value of the data within these CRM systems.”

An existing DataFlux customer, Capella Education expanded their use of DataFlux technology, adding the DataFlux Integration Server to support real-time data quality and data integration capabilities. With enhanced capabilities to find and locate similar records across sources, the technology provided a way for staff to receive notices to update an existing record instead of entering a new, duplicate entry.
