Great American Insurance Group Leverages DataFlux for Legacy Data Migrations

Release date: 2/17/2009

Deployment of DataFlux Technology Helps Maximize Earlier Investments in Data Quality

CARY, N.C. (February 17, 2009) — DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality and data integration solutions, today announced that Great American Insurance Group continues to broaden its data management capabilities with an expanded use of DataFlux technology. The Cincinnati, Ohio-based specialty property and casualty insurer will leverage its existing investments in DataFlux technology to further customize its data quality platform.

“DataFlux provides an open data quality platform that provides us with a myriad of options for out-of-the-box functionality,” said Cary Cain, project manager at Great American Insurance Group. “The feature we find most useful is the customization, which allows us to easily program special and unique data quality terms. We believe that this feature streamlines our legacy data migrations and helps us to achieve the quality results we strive for.”

Great American first selected DataFlux technology in 2005 as part of an enterprisewide data quality initiative. As they begin migrating data from legacy systems, DataFlux will provide the capability to identify and then correct inconsistent or erroneous data more efficiently than through manual processes.

“Data migration is a task that is critical to a company becoming more effective and efficient,” said Tony Fisher, president and CEO of DataFlux. “Our technology enables organizations to migrate data with a focus on transforming this data into high-quality information. When errors can be identified, isolated and corrected, the end result is data that becomes an asset.”
