Release date: 3/30/2009

Long-term data governance strategy includes focus on data quality and data integration across the enterprise

CARY, N.C. (March 30, 2009) — DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality and data integration solutions, today announced PepsiAmericas, Inc., the world's second-largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of PepsiCo beverages, has selected DataFlux® technology to power its enterprise data management (EDM) program. PepsiAmericas will use DataFlux software to validate and improve the quality of enterprise data for various systems across the organization.

To help meet its operational and strategic EDM goals, PepsiAmericas will utilize the DataFlux Data Quality & Integration Platform as part of its long-term data governance framework. This enterprise platform will help PepsiAmericas highlight and correct data errors in operations, reporting, selling and delivery systems. This level of data accuracy will result in improved accuracy, consistency and control over enterprise data.

“Data quality is a critical component in our data governance efforts,” said Bill Holada, director of financial services at PepsiAmericas. “We need a technology that is powerful enough to support our data strategy – today and in the future. After evaluating the leading vendors, we chose DataFlux because of their ability to deliver various robust solutions – all built on data quality.”

PepsiAmericas will initially deploy DataFlux technology as a data quality tool that will provide better control and management of pricing, customer, supplier and product data. The data will be used to support the volume and velocity of change in its product portfolio and customer base, while improving overall customer satisfaction.

“What separates DataFlux from the competition is the understanding that data quality is a critical component of any data management initiative,” said Tony Fisher, president and CEO of DataFlux. “Data quality is vital to gaining a trusted view of customers and products, and we’re pleased PepsiAmericas is laying the foundation for a successful data governance program with a focus on data quality.”
