Zebra Technologies Heats Up Data Integration with DataFlux

Release date: 8/26/2008

Global leader in specialty printing and automatic identification solutions uses DataFlux solution for batch and real-time data quality and data integration services.

CARY, N.C. (August 26, 2008) — DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality and data integration solutions, today announced that Zebra Technologies Corporation, a global provider of solutions that help its customers identify, track and manage assets, transactions and people, has selected the DataFlux Data Quality Integration Platform to analyze, correct, and govern data from legacy systems prior to and after migration into its enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications.

Zebra Technologies was faced with the challenge of migrating all of its corporate data stored across multiple legacy ERP systems and other disparate sources to Oracle’s ERP applications. For this migration process, Zebra was looking for a solution to “police” data before sending it to the new master record repository and to govern the data input after migration.

Zebra selected DataFlux technology to provide the foundation for both batch and real-time data quality services. These reusable services provide a foundation for data governance at the point of entry into Siebel UCM. The DataFlux platform will analyze and evaluate Zebra’s data, spanning 90 countries, for inconsistencies, duplicates and inaccuracies. To ensure that no master record is impaired, DataFlux will automatically analyze and cleanse incoming data while also applying business rules to check for data integrity.

Don O’Shea, chief information officer at Zebra Technologies, described the need for the DataFlux implementation: “Our users demand an easy-to-use, flexible platform to correct data anomalies that exist in our legacy systems. DataFlux provides a means to address our immediate needs for data migration to our global corporate ERP system and helps with our long-term data quality goals.”

“For a company with the sheer data volume and global presence of Zebra, an automated data quality solution is a necessity to deliver high-value information in a new application,” said Tony Fisher, president and CEO of DataFlux. “Our data quality and data integration technologies provide batch and real-time services for data quality and a service-oriented architecture to simplify deployment. We’re proud to help Zebra increase the value of its corporate data and provide the best possible service to its customers.”
