Housing Provider A2Dominion Adopts DataFlux Technology for Data Management Improvements

Release date: 5/5/2010

The A2Dominion Housing Group looks to DataFlux to find, correct and standardize property and tenant data

London, UK (May 5, 2010) — DataFlux, a leading provider of data management solutions, today announced that the A2Dominion Group, a UK-based housing provider, has selected DataFlux® technology to improve the quality of its enterprise data. The A2Dominion Group will utilize award-winning DataFlux software to underpin its Data Quality Framework in order to improve property and tenant information found across the business.

After A2 and Dominion merged to form A2Dominion Group in 2008, data was migrated from different systems onto a single system, Universal Housing. This database holds important information on their properties located in London, Oxfordshire and across Southern England, such as property type, number of bedrooms, location, business stream and postcode data. Customer and tenant information – including rent account history and transactions – also resides in the Universal Housing database. This data is fully integrated with and supplied to A2Dominion’s CRM and call center systems.

The initial phase of the project will profile data held in the Universal Housing database and highlight the areas where improvements in quality will yield greatest value. The A2Dominion Group plans to use the results to help create an organizational data quality culture that will create and maintain a single set of data standards. Communication with tenants and customers is also a focus of the project, since more trustworthy, real-time data can provide the foundation for better customer service. A continuous data quality audit program will be implemented so that the data remains accurate.

Trevor Whittaker, applications systems manager, A2Dominion Group, said: “After a number of data migration projects, we wanted to ensure that accurate information feeds day-to-day activities, such as repairs and property inventory. By avoiding manual intervention, all these processes become faster and more efficient. As a partially government-funded organization, we also need to use our data for reporting to the Tenant Services Authority, so the quality of data is always paramount to us.”

Colin Rickard, managing director, EMEA, DataFlux said, “When data management is taken seriously at the top level of an organization, the trickle-down effects are amplified. By making a concerted effort to entrench a data quality ethos within the group, A2Dominion is taking a proactive and governed approach that turns data into a strategic asset.”
