Helping employees achieve a good work/life balance sends data management company to the top of the list
Cary, N.C. (September 28, 2010) — DataFlux, a leading provider of data management solutions, today announced that it has been ranked the top company in the midsize business category of the Triangle Business Journal’s 2010 “Best Places to Work” list. Each of the companies considered for the annual award were first nominated by an area business leader. Employees of the nominated companies then completed an anonymous survey of questions about the organization’s culture and the quality of job benefits.
“These awards are a testimony to the good work done by businesses in the Triangle that recognize that their people are a company's most valuable assets,” says Triangle Business Journal publisher Char Grunwaldt. “The emphasis on keeping workers happy and productive is clearly evident among [the] winners."
Founded in 1997, DataFlux recorded year-to-date revenue growth of more than 30 percent in 2010, following a decade of year-over-year double-digit growth in the emerging data management market. Employee turnover since 2005 has been less than 10 percent despite global economic instability, and the success of DataFlux has been fueled directly by the dedication of its employees, said Tony Fisher, DataFlux president and CEO.
“We do everything possible to keep morale at a high level, regardless of the economic pressures,” says Fisher. “The best way to raise employee morale is to share the success: share the wins, share the milestone achievements – and do this across the whole company. We realize that happy, motivated employees are involved employees.”
As a subsidiary of SAS Institute, which earned the top spot on Fortune magazine’s 2010 “100 Best Companies to Work For” list, DataFlux has a rich legacy of nurturing its employees’ personal and professional development.
In addition to offering a competitive benefits package and compensation, DataFlux understands that its employees have a variety of responsibilities and interests. The company strives to provide employees with a healthy work/life balance where they feel rewarded both professionally and socially.
DataFlux provides numerous opportunities for career growth and coaching, and encourages all employees, from executives to new hires, to actively influence the company’s vision. Education both onsite and offsite is an area of importance, and DataFlux supports employees’ outside educational pursuits. Furthermore, the company regularly organizes events for its employees and their families, including picnics and company-sponsored trips to baseball games.
DataFlux also focuses on external efforts to help keep employees involved in the community. DataFlux employees volunteer time and financial resources to support several local charities every year. This year the company has been involved with Ronald McDonald House, the Duke Children’s Hospital and Community Partners, Inc.
